Bank of Portugal warns of fraud involving Multibanco cards sent by mail

The Bank of Portugal (BdP) has issued a warning regarding a scam where criminals send fake Multibanco cards to victims' homes. Fraudsters use personal data, such as names and bank names, to personalize letters and create a false sense of urgency, such as threatening to block the user's account. The BdP warns never to use contact details, links, or QR codes provided in such letters; legitimate card activation should only occur via official bank apps, websites, or ATM machines.
