Arrival of Autumn brings no relief from heat: 70 municipalities at maximum wildfire risk

IPMA has placed 70 municipalities across mainland Portugal at maximum wildfire risk, while nine districts are under a yellow weather warning for high temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius. High temperatures are also causing concern in the Madeira archipelago.

Why it mattersIf you are in or traveling through one of the 70 municipalities at maximum fire risk or the nine districts under a heat warning, exercise extreme caution with any heat-generating activity, stay hydrated, and follow local civil protection instructions.
