Around a thousand firefighters battling wildfires, North zone concentrates the majority of resources
Approximately 600 emergency personnel have been deployed to combat wildfires in the municipalities of Vinhais, Torre de Moncorvo, and Chaves, representing over half of all national resources currently active.
Why it mattersIf you are in or near Vinhais, Torre de Moncorvo, or Chaves, be aware of high wildfire activity, follow official instructions from local emergency services, and avoid travel in affected areas.
