Amnesty International observer among those injured in Rossio police charge; authorities had been notified of their presence
An Amnesty International observer was injured by a police baton during the dispersal of a housing protest at Rossio in Lisbon in the early hours of Sunday, 25 October. Amnesty International, which had formally notified police of its observers' presence, condemned what it described as excessive and disproportionate force used against protesters in Lisbon and Porto and is currently evaluating video evidence of the incident.
