Alternatives to temporary Lisbon Metro closure approved; no shuttle to Santa Apolónia
Lisbon City Council approved a mobility plan for the upcoming, yet-to-be-dated closure of the Metro line between Terreiro do Paço and Santa Apolónia. Instead of a direct shuttle, the plan relies on reinforcing Carris bus services with direct links to Cais do Sodré and Restauradores, while the Blue Line will terminate at Terreiro do Paço and CP will keep Santa Apolónia station open.
Why it mattersIf you commute through the Santa Apolónia-Terreiro do Paço area, you will eventually have to use reinforced bus routes or alternative rail connections rather than a direct Metro shuttle when the works begin.
