AIMA workers on strike, union says discussing the future is "urgent"
The Migration Technicians Union (STM) is holding a strike today, Tuesday, October 6, following a lack of response to their requests for talks on salary increases, a dedicated technical career path, and leadership stability. The union demands professional valorization, pay parity with border-control security forces (GNR and PSP), and a reversal of the delegation of permanent state migration tasks to local support centers (CLAIM).
Why it mattersAs AIMA workers are striking today, expect significant delays or service disruptions in residency, visa, and asylum-related processes at AIMA offices.
