About 300 security agents gather in Viseu for a review of their professional status

Approximately 300 PSP and GNR officers protested in Viseu on 15 October demanding the resumption of negotiations on pay and professional status, which they claim have been stalled for over two years. Union leaders warned that if the government does not present concrete measures for salary tables and status updates by November—to take effect in January—the current series of protests will continue. A national demonstration is planned for 29 October in Lisbon, with regional protests scheduled for Guimarães on 16 October, and in Madeira and the Azores next week.
