45 days to the elections: Lisbon breaks record for polling stations and will have a virtual assistant to guide voters
With the Brazilian elections scheduled for October 4, 2026, Lisbon will host over 78,000 eligible voters across three locations (Faculty of Law, Faculty of Letters, and the Rectory). To manage the record number of 103 electronic ballot boxes, the Consulate-General will deploy a WhatsApp-based virtual assistant to provide turn-by-turn directions to individual voting rooms, and has requested increased bus frequency and traffic restrictions in the University City area for the election day.
