Water pipe burst forces closure of several schools in Maia
A major water main burst in Pedrouços has caused water shortages in several parishes of Maia (Milheirós, Nogueira, and Silva Escura) and parts of Ermesinde (Gondomar). As a result, four out of five schools in the Águas Santas cluster are closed today, Thursday, October 1, 2026. Water service is expected to be restored by 18:00.
