'+Visão Seniores' program has supported 5,100 retirees
The Madeira regional program provides a 150-euro subsidy for prescription glasses to retirees aged 65 or older with a pension not exceeding 805.70 euros. The benefit can be used every three years at 17 participating optical stores by presenting a medical prescription and a Social Security beneficiary declaration.
Why it mattersIf you are a retiree living in Madeira and your pension is 805.70 euros or less, you can receive 150 euros toward the cost of prescription glasses at participating stores.
