University of Leiria and West launches Accessible Inclusive Reading project
The University of Leiria and West (ULO) has launched the "Leitura Inclusiva Acessível" (LIA) project, an online repository of over 200 accessible books for children. The platform functions as a library, allowing schools and families to request books in various formats, such as Braille, audio (via QR Code), pictograms, and easy-to-read text, specifically designed for children with sensory, cognitive, or learning disabilities, as well as migrant children struggling with the Portuguese language.
Why it mattersIf you are a parent or educator looking for accessible educational materials or resources for children, including those who do not yet master the Portuguese language, you can now access and request these materials through the university's new digital library.
