Temperatures above 40ºC increase wildfire risk; Civil Protection warns of prohibitions

The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) has declared a 'Very High' to 'Maximum' wildfire risk across the interior and the Algarve due to temperatures exceeding 40ºC, low humidity, and increasing wind. Several activities are now prohibited in rural areas, including burning waste, using fire for cooking outside authorized zones, smoking/disinfecting apiaries without spark protection, and using brushcutters or shredders.
