Sintra council extends paid parking at beaches to the whole year
Paid parking at Praia Grande and Praia das Maçãs will become permanent throughout the year, starting October 1, 2026. From October 1 to April 30, rates will be reduced (starting at 0.10 euros for 15 minutes) and a 15-minute grace period will be introduced daily across all metered zones in the municipality.
Why it mattersIf you drive to Praia Grande or Praia das Maçãs, you will need to pay for parking all year round starting October 1; however, you will benefit from a 15-minute free grace period daily in these and all other metered parking zones in Sintra.
