See here the impact of the IRS reduction on your income

The government announced a reduction in personal income tax (IRS) rates by between 0.3 and 0.5 percentage points for the 1st through 6th tax brackets, applicable to 2026 income. The 1st bracket rate will decrease by 0.3 percentage points, the 2nd through 5th brackets will decrease by 0.5 percentage points, and the 6th bracket will decrease by 0.3 percentage points.

Why it mattersIf you are a taxpayer in Portugal, you can expect a slight reduction in your income tax burden starting with your 2026 income, which will increase your net take-home pay.
