Russian Embassy in Lisbon cancels mobile voting and limits elections to one polling station due to 'hostile actions' by Portugal

The Russian Embassy in Lisbon announced that voting for the legislative elections will only be available on September 20, 2026, at a single polling station (n.º 8259) located at the embassy in Lisbon. Mobile voting for citizens living in other parts of Portugal has been cancelled, citing limited logistical capacity due to recent staff reductions.

Why it mattersIf you are a Russian citizen living in Portugal outside of Lisbon, you will not be able to vote locally and must travel to the embassy in Lisbon on September 20 if you intend to participate.
