Registry and Notary workers call for reinvestment of revenue surplus

The union representing Registry and Notary workers (STRN) is demanding that the government reinvest the surplus revenue generated by registries back into the sector, noting that while the 2027 State Budget estimates 552 million euros in revenue from these services, 42.5% is diverted elsewhere. The union warns that the sector faces a shortage of over 2,600 workers and continues to struggle with operational delays that hinder essential services for citizens and businesses.
