Portuguese League Against Cancer admits drop in donations due to rising cost of living

The Portuguese League Against Cancer starts its annual nationwide street collection on Thursday 29 October, running for four days with 20,000 to 22,000 volunteers, while admitting that high housing, fuel and food costs may reduce contributions. The organization highlights that cancer patients facing sick leave experience a nearly 30% drop in income while dealing with increased expenses, and notes that some supermarkets will introduce checkout donation vouchers alongside traditional collectors.
