Portugal has already issued more than 4,600 work visas to Brazilians in 2026

Between January and September 2026, Portuguese consulates in Brazil issued 4,656 work visas and 360 visas for highly qualified professionals. This data follows the October 2025 legislative change that effectively ended the general job-seeker visa, which had previously accounted for thousands of annual arrivals.
