Porto City Council prepares collaboration protocol with IP for VCI management

Porto's mayor announced a forthcoming protocol with Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) to share responsibility for VCI management, covering tasks like landscaping, cleaning, access control, and a permanent towing service for accident management. Separately, as of Tuesday, 2026-09-15, heavy goods vehicles (over 3,500kg, 3+ axles, ≥1.1m high) without a destination in Porto or Gaia are prohibited from circulating on the VCI on weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00.
