Pharmaceutical companies must provide free treatment after clinical trials

Pharmaceutical companies will be required to provide free medication to patients who participated in clinical trials, continuing until the treatment is approved for the market and available through the National Health Service (SNS).

Why it matters

If you are a patient participating in a clinical trial in Portugal, you are now guaranteed continued access to the treatment for free once the trial concludes, until it becomes publicly available in the SNS.
