Petrol and diesel to rise again on Monday, but final costs are in the hands of the Government
Fuel prices are expected to rise by approximately 10 cents per litre this coming Monday, August 17, 2026, offsetting the decreases seen earlier this week. The final price remains subject to change, as the government has the authority to adjust the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP) to mitigate the impact of rising international market quotations.
Why it mattersIf you drive, you should expect to pay about 10 cents more per litre at the pump from Monday, though government tax adjustments could still lower that final increase.
