Online public petition surpasses 29,000 signatures to bring housing to Parliament

A petition calling for the right to decent housing, increased public housing, and protection against evictions and abusive lease terminations has reached 29,347 signatures, well above the 7,500 threshold required for parliamentary debate. Initiated by Ana Barros, it proposes around 40 measures including increased public investment in affordable rental housing, the rehabilitation of vacant public buildings, and the evaluation of rent regulation mechanisms. The petition remains open while legal documentation is gathered for the upcoming plenary discussion.
