The mayor of Porto stated that the municipality will comply with any judicial decision regarding the legality of overnight camping in the city, following incidents involving police interventions on Sunday, 1 November. The national police force (PSP) has formally denied allegations that undercover officers detained or escorted housing protesters to police stations in Porto following the dismantling of encampments. The police state that only seven individuals were detained during the initial intervention on Sunday, 1 November, and that all were transported in marked vehicles by uniformed officers.
The Economic and Social Council (CES) issued an opinion on the 2027 State Budget proposal recommending that rent hikes and non-renewals be prevented for elderly, disabled, and vulnerable individuals to avoid displacement.
