Minister of Agriculture says there is no reason for alarm regarding the Shamonda virus

The Minister of Agriculture stated that there is no imminent danger to human health from the Shamonda virus, which has affected cattle in municipalities including Odemira, Vimioso, Évora, Loures, Crato, and Montijo. While the government is monitoring the situation and calling for EU-level research into vaccines, it has not committed to subsidizing the costs of diagnostic tests for livestock producers, despite concerns over the price of over 30 euros per analysis.
