Lost your Citizen Card PIN? Here is what to do
Recovering lost Citizen Card PIN codes depends on when the card was issued. For cards issued from 16 April 2018 onwards, holders who lost their PIN letter can request PUK recovery in person at a counter for five euros to set new PINs without replacing the card. For cards issued before 16 April 2018, losing the PIN letter means the document must be renewed if new codes are needed. If the letter is lost before collecting a new card, a duplicate can be requested within 90 days, after which a new card is required.
Why it mattersIf you lose your Citizen Card PIN codes, whether you can recover them for five euros or must pay to renew the entire card depends on whether your card was issued before or after 16 April 2018.
