Immunization campaign against respiratory syncytial virus started today in the Azores

The immunization campaign for the 2026/2027 season has begun in the Azores. It is universal for children born between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027, and also covers specific groups of premature infants and children with identified risk factors up to 24 months of age.

Why it mattersIf you are a parent in the Azores with a child born within these dates or criteria, your child is eligible for a free, voluntary, and highly recommended immunization against RSV, which can be administered at birth in hospitals or through primary healthcare centers.
