A protest by heavy-duty truck drivers, primarily from the earthmoving sector, began this Friday morning with a slow march starting in Paredes on the A42. The demonstration is moving toward Coimbra and is affecting the A41 and the A1 motorway (Lisbon-Porto), with organisers demanding the creation of a 'professional diesel' rate to reduce fuel costs. The government has scheduled a meeting with sector representatives for Monday, September 28, 2026.
