House prices and family debt are both rising

Between April and June 2026, housing prices rose 16.5% compared to the previous year, with used homes rising more sharply than new ones. Meanwhile, household debt increased by 10% in July, the largest rise since 2008, driven primarily by housing loans. Transaction volume fell by 6.4% year-on-year, and the 6-month Euribor rate reached 2.999% as of Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
