Health authorities confirm presence of dengue, Zika, and chikungunya-transmitting mosquito in Alto Minho
The Alto Minho Local Health Unit (ULSAM) has confirmed the presence of the Aedes albopictus (tiger mosquito) in three municipalities within the region. While no infected mosquitoes or local disease transmissions have been detected, health authorities have increased surveillance and are advising residents to eliminate standing water and use protection measures like repellent and mosquito nets.
