The European Commission has initiated infringement proceedings against Portugal over the policy granting residents free museum admission, citing discrimination against non-residents. The Minister of Culture confirmed the government has committed to reviewing and rectifying the measure by the end of the first half of 2027 to avoid European fines.
The government has launched a €1 million emergency fund, 'ProMuseus Respostas de Emergência 2026', for museums in the Portuguese Museum Network damaged by storms earlier this year. Eligible museums can apply for up to €100,000 to cover repair costs through an online platform until 23 October.
The first Algarve Real Estate Summit will take place on 20 November 2026 at the Centro de Congressos de Lagoa. The event focuses on property investment, construction, and tourism trends, featuring discussions on local market challenges and international real estate models from Dubai and the United States.
