Euribor rises at 6 and 12 months to new highs since summer 2024

As of Friday, September 25, 2026, the 6-month Euribor rate reached 3.070% and the 12-month rate hit 3.379%, both marking their highest levels since mid-2024. Conversely, the 3-month Euribor rate decreased slightly to 2.607%.

Why it mattersIf you have a variable-rate mortgage in Portugal, these rate increases will likely lead to higher monthly repayments when your contract is next scheduled for its periodic interest rate reset.
