Domestic violence against the elderly deserves 'special attention', argues PSP

The PSP police reports that filial violence (children abusing parents) now accounts for 40% to 45% of all domestic violence complaints involving the elderly, whose victims are typically aged 70 to 75. These cases often involve adult children living with their parents under conditions of economic dependency and substance abuse, leading to delayed reporting due to parental guilt or protective instincts.
