Diabetology Society warns of risk of losing medicine subsidies
The Portuguese Society of Diabetology (SPD) warns that administrative issues within the National User Registry (RNU) may block patients from accessing subsidized diabetes medications and medical devices. Users whose data is not correctly updated in the system are currently required to visit their local health center in person to resolve the issue to ensure their pharmacy subsidies remain active.
Why it mattersIf you are a diabetes patient using the SNS for subsidized treatments or devices, you risk being denied your subsidy at the pharmacy if your administrative data in the RNU is not up to date; check your registration status to avoid having to visit a health center in person to resolve it.
