The total stock of home loans in Portugal reached 119.062 billion euros in August, representing an 11.2% annual growth rate—the highest since February 2003. This is an increase of 1.038 billion euros compared to July, while household deposits fell by approximately 2.6 billion euros during the same period.
The municipalities of Oeiras and Cascais have implemented housing support programs for teachers with affordable rents, providing accommodation to 151 professionals to date. In contrast, Lisbon currently offers no municipal housing options exclusively for teaching staff.
