Civil Protection warns of wildfire risk throughout the country
The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) has maintained its alert status at level III, the second-highest tier, due to high temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds. Over 60 municipalities across 10 mainland districts are at maximum wildfire risk today, with conditions expected to remain severe throughout the week.
Why it mattersIf you are in mainland Portugal, be aware that wildfire risk is at its maximum in over 60 municipalities today and will remain high for the coming days; avoid any activity that could spark a fire, such as using machinery in rural or forested areas.
