Centeno advocates that property developers should have an 'obligation' to dedicate up to a quarter of new homes to affordable housing
Mário Centeno proposed that developers be required to dedicate 20% to 25% of all new housing projects to affordable housing as a condition for licensing. He also criticized the government's recent IRS tax cut announcement, arguing that only 400 million euros of the 1.4 billion euros in tax retention savings are actual tax rate reductions, with the remainder likely to be reclaimed by the state in future liquidations.
