Breast cancer screening: women with genetic mutations will undergo MRI from age 25

Women identified as carriers of pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants in the BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 genes will now be eligible for breast cancer screening via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) starting at age 25. This change addresses the significantly higher risk—three to seven times greater—of developing the disease compared to the general population.
