Bar Association condemns police charges at housing protests and raises constitutional concerns

The Human Rights Commission of the Portuguese Bar Association (OA) has publicly condemned the use of force by police against peaceful housing protesters, labeling the charges disproportionate. The commission specifically challenged the constitutional validity of using a 1974 decree-law to enforce a 00:30 curfew to disperse protests, arguing that a time limit alone does not justify ending a demonstration or using force.
