Ask the Lawyer: I didn't justify my vote and my voter registration was cancelled. How do I fix it?

Voter registration is cancelled after three consecutive missed elections without justification or payment of fines. Paying the fines alone does not reactivate the registration; the elector must request a review of their status or transfer their electoral domicile to their current country of residence. For the 2026 elections, the deadline to justify absence for the first round (4 October 2026) is 3 December 2026, and for the second round, 8 January 2027.
