Alzheimer and Parkinson: President of the IPDN calls for public funding for experimental treatments

The president of the Portuguese Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (IPDN) is urging for public funding for innovative, experimental treatments for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, which are currently inaccessible to most patients due to cost. The appeal was made during an international scientific congress in Cascais, which also highlighted the lack of support for informal caregivers and the need for multidisciplinary home-based care.
