Doctors' union files complaint with Ombudsman against vacancy selection model

The Northern Doctors' Union (SMN) has requested the urgent suspension of the new 2026 online, batch-based system for choosing specialized training vacancies, arguing it lacks transparency compared to the previous real-time, sequential model. The union contends that the new system, which forces candidates to submit an extensive list of preferences in advance, creates inequality by allowing some candidates significant time to decide while others have only about 13 hours to act once vacancies are revealed.
